Insult or Compliment???

I can't figure out if this is an insult or a compliment:

"Since we've moved to Finland, your cooking has improved immensely".

Thoughts??

  1. Hmmm... I guess it depends on how you look at it. A compliment because your cooking is good now? Or an insult because that means it was terrible before? Maybe it just means it has always been wonderful but now it is better because you have more time for it. The only way to find out for sure is to question the source. I am sure he meant it to be a statement of facts and nothing else...
