Last Stop - Munich, Germany

From our two and a half week trip around Central Europe, Munich was our last stop. It was a great way to end the trip. We met up with my girlfriend's sister, who lives in Munich, and she was dressed in the Bavarian attire to be our tour guide. We had a great time wandering through Karlsplatz, Marienplatz, seeing the gothic New Town Hall, watching the bell tower show, St Peters Church, touring Odeonsplatz where Hitler used to hold rallies, and the beautiful Hofgarten. We also had to tour through the Hofbrauhaus, which is the beer hall. Wow, it was an incredible atmosphere. I felt a bit weird touring it with my children in tow but it was incredible to see the women carrying multiple 1L beer steins. The most I saw was 8 at a time. The world record during Octoberfest is 20!!!!!
We took our tour guides out for an amazing dinner at a German beerhall and we were all super stuffed. I think Andrew tried one of everything on the menu, he was sweating German food for days.
The following morning we drove to the Nymphenburg Palace to tour the grounds before heading to the airport. The Munich Airport was actually astonishingly beautiful and clean and modern. And the airplane ride went quite smoothly, since Charlie and I fell asleep at takeoff and didn't wake up until we were landing :)
A wonderful trip around Central Europe, and more memories to add our to amazing collection. xoxo
