Where Have All the People Gone?

July is upon us, and with that marks the beginning of the emptiness of Espoo and Helsinki. The majority of working Finns take four weeks of holidays for the month of July, as schools are closed and many companies shut down. Most venture to their mokki, which is their summer cottage and spend the month relaxing and grilling makkara (sausages).
Although Andrew is not taking his holidays until August (when we travel to Canada), I think he's glad the lab is pretty empty. Especially since his boss is away for 5 weeks :)
